Dear patient you are diagnosed with spine tuberculosis for which AKT 4 is the recommended for a duration of 9 months as it's bony tuberculosis. AKT 4 contains 4 drugs and one of them is isoniazid. Isoniazid has peripheral neuropathy as side effect and to prevent it pyridoxine is given alongwith AKT 4. Also you have to take drugs on daily basis. 4 drugs for initial three months and then 2 drugs for onother 6 months. Bed rest is required for one month only and after that u can be mobile with the help of spinal brace. Diet containing high protein and vitamins should be preferred. Monthly follow up is required with blood tests and esr to assess recovery from disease. Don't forget a single dose of drugs otherwise drug resistance is very common.
