Is It Safe To Take Sandomigran For Long Time?

Hi I was using sandomigran for few years and notice I start to increase dosage from 1 tablet per day to 5 per day. When I had severe migran I used maxalt. Recently I decided to stop to use all this tablets as I did not have good effect any more and bough Feverfew capsules. Can anybody suggest why Sandamigran stopped helping me ?

Dr. Hanif warmly welcomes you!

Thanks for consulting at my virtual clinic HCM. I have carefully worked through your case, and can well realize your health worries. Being your physician, I want to assure, I will take care all of your medical concerns.

The drug constituent in Sandomigran is a benzocycloheptene and is used for migraine headache.

As we use this drug for longer times it stops working due to desensitization of the receptors where the drug binds centrally. To get the same effects and efficacy, we have to gradually increase the dosage and frequency of the drug. This obvious in your history that you needed to raise the dosage gradually.

Drug dependency is one of the major issues and challenges in modern science and is a reason for addiction and/or patient adherence issues to drugs.

Hope I answered all of your questions. Please don't forget to add your precious positive feedback to help me able to assist you better in future too. Have a wonderful time ahead. Keep in touch for a follow-up too to let me know if you have any doubts & need further assistance. I am available 24/7 for your help. Have a blessed time ahead.
