Is It Safe To Take Thyroxine 100mg For Under Active Thyroid?
Dear Dr
I was recently diagnosed with under active thyroid after being fit and well with no previous medical history other than over active thyroid 15 years ago which was reversed by radiation tablet, I have been put on thyroxine 100mg. Two weeks ago I have started developing symtoms such severe fatigue, no taste, hands like blocks of ice, no muscle strength, numbness in various parts of body.. I have also experienced severe shooting face pain, I have been referred to neurologist for ? tri-geminal neuralga. Is this linked to my thyroid? Do I need higher dose?
Sear patient, in order to find out if thyriod hormone dose is adequate the tsh level in blood should be tested. Normally not linked to trig. neuralgia. Best regards
