Is It Safe To Take Cerelle For Continuous Bleeding?
Hello. My daughter has ITP and her platelet count is almost always under 60 for the 12 years shes had it. She was put on cerazette by our local hospital 5 years now to totally stop her periods because she was bleeding continually and very heavily all the time. Her health suffered because she was loosing so much blood as did her education because she couldn t control the blood loss, dizziness, sickness, etc that came with it. ? We just picked up her repeat prescription and noticed her GP has now put her on cerelle without even telling us about it. We have just read up online about cerelle and it sounds like it doesn t work like the cerezazette does to stop the bleeding and many people experience heavier and far longer bouts of bleeding. My question is, is it safe to take the new pill and will it continue to totally stop the bleeding and keep her out of hospital again? Thank you.
HFori I understand your concern. For the control of bleeding in ITP patients, both of these medicines are not useful. Since it's an immune disorder, corticosteroids are the drugs of choice. I would advice you to see a good medical specialist. Thank you for contacting healthcare magic.
