Is It Safe To Take Extra Dosage Of Ferosul While Also Consuming Colace For Constipation?

I was told to take 4 Ferosul which is the equivalent of 260 mg of elemental iron. I am iron deficient, so a doctor recommended this dosage. However, there is a warning on the Ferosul label to not exceed 2 tablets in a 24 hour period. Is it safe for me to go with the doctor s dosage. Also she told me to take 2 colace/day to help with the constipation. I m going to be on these for 6 weeks and need to know if this prolonged laxative and iron use is safe.
