Is It Safe To Take Hydrocodone For Sever Pain?

My Phy has recently added Fetanyl Patches (at my request 12 mg instead of 25mg)due to prev problems with mediations.I have had two fusions in my back and I am in constant pain all of the time.I have been on hydrocodone 10/325 for quite sometime.But, that is no longer working by itself..They have tried stronger pill forms of pain meds but I was unable to take those due to side affects (breathing & nausea).My ques is it safe to use the hydrocodone as break through med and is there a certain time frame to take the hydrocodone & should I start the Fentanyl Patches tonight or wait til the morning to start?Thank you for your answer & time.

Look as you taking more potent analgesic particularly narcotic, the phase comes when the dose of drugs needed to be increased for proper effects because the body becomes use to for lower dose and patient may not get the analgesic effects this is the biggest drawback of narcotic analgesic, it is better to avoid such drug and have simple NSIAD drug and try to tolerate the pain, this will give even good result than the narcotic analgesic, hope this information helps you, take care and have good day.
