Is It Safe To Take Regestrone For Irregular Periods For A Long Time?
Hi, i have been taking regestrone for the past one year i.e 10 tabs every month for a year because of irregular periods i just wanted to know is this safe? what are the long term side effects? Irregular problems are because im over weight my height is 5.5 and i weigh 75 kg. please reply soon
The cause of irregular periods for more than a year should be investigated to identify the cause.Taking regestrone for such a long period is not advisable due to the various side effects.A pelvic ultrasound and thyroid function test should be taken to rule out hormonal imbalance which can be caused by ovarian cysts or hypothyroidism.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
