Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi
Welcome to the HCM

I completely understand your concerns but don't worry. The most likely reason for such complaints are recurrent viral infections which are usually self limiting and improve gradually over time. The frequency increases after tuberculosis due to low immunity.

Allergic coughs are not usually associated with fever spikes. Use of inhaler therapy is purely guided by lung functions and clinical examination.

So, I would recommend you the following measures to help him out:
1. Maintain a proper record of signs and symptoms and response to treatment.
2. You may check him for immunity by CBC
3. Also go for pulmonary function test if he suffers from recurrent wheeze and coughs.
4. For symptomatic treatment give Syp. Chlorpheniramine or Benadryl.
5. Ensure a good healthy diet and plenty of fluids.

Hopefully this will help you.
Take care
