Is It Serious If Passing Blood In Urine And Is Painful?
I am a woman 72 who just started having blood in her urine. It was painful this morning, but not excruciating. I've had bladder infections twice before, once in 2009 and once in 2010. It is Friday afternoon - 4 p.m. Can I wait until Monday to call my primary care doctor.

Well it may be sign of some more or less serious problems. In most cases this is caused by urinary stones or urinary infection so these should be ruled out first. Secondly, it may be sign of something more serious such as tumors so cystoscopy may be required.
