Is It To Be Concerned About Swollen Penis In Child?

My 8 year old sons penis is swollen and I am trying to determine if I need to take him to see someone. It does not appear to be because of an erection. He says it doesn't hurt to touch it or use the bathroom and he does not have any fever. He has had something similar in the past but it was just the ring part of it at the top near the head. Is this something we should be concerned about?

Hi
Welcome to Healthcare-Magic
Greetings

Swelling at the tip of penis is likely to be due to Phimosis( tight foreskin) , it causes accumulation of smegma the whitish secretion normally secreted by under surface of foreskin. Infection of it can cause swelling.
I would suggest you to consult Pediatric Surgeon for further management.

Take Care

Best Regards
