Is It To Be Concerned About The Rash Near The Eye In Child?

Hi. My 7 yr old daught has developed a vertical rash near her left eye that goes straight down to the top of her nostril. I am concerned because her pediatrician isn't sure what it is and just said to use hydrocortizone on it but it has done anything. Could this be a symptom of something very serious?
