Is It True That Skin Becomes Darker After Stopping Usage Of Mellalite Forte?
I want to use melallite forte at night n apply sunscreen in d morning to remove tanning from my face n get a fairer complexion without any prescription from a doctor. I have read online that after stopping d use of forte the skin might become darker than before. Is it true??
Hello, Melalite Forte is a steroid + topical retinoid + hydroquinone combination. Using this without prescription and that too for tanning is not recommended. The steroid in the cream may cause permanent side effects like thinning of skin, excessive sensitivity to sunlight etc. Much worse is the hydroquinone which in long run may cause a syndrome called exogenous ochronosis which results in black to brown pigmentation on the skin. This is extreamly hard to treat once it occurs. I will suggest you not to use this cream without prescription. Use of sunscreen in a proper way will take care of most of the tanning. FOr best results use a sunscreen with PA+++ value every three hours, starting half an hour before you leave home. Regards Dr. Tushar K
