Is Late Period With Fatigue, Dizziness And Intense Abdominal Cramps A Cause For Concern?

My period was 10 days late. Last month my period was 5 days late. I took a pregnancy test and it came out negative. I just got my period yesterday but I am extremely tired, dizzy, naesus, have intense cramps and a mild stomach ache. What could be going on?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Rapid changes in diet, climate change, and hormonal has impact on periods. If you are regularly getting such issues then a physical examination by gynecologist and ultrasound examination should be done to know the status of uterus. Swab test should be done to rule out infections also. Combined oral contraceptives will be helpful to regularize periods and to relief from associated symptoms.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nishad B. N., General & Family Physician
