Is Lisinopril Recommended In Case Of High Blood Pressure Caused By Stress?

I am 70 yr old female. My normally under control blood pressure has jumped to 195/105 after a 3 week heavy stress period. I take 40 mg lisinopril every morning. Took it as 7 a.m. to day and it has only lowered the blood pressure 10 degrees. It is now 3 p.m. I live over 100 miles from a hospital in a very small town. I cannot get to a Dr. today. Is it ok to take another dose of medication or what should I do?

Dear sir/madam, u are currently on high dose of lisinopril. No point in increasing a single class of drug ( antihypertensive ) to control bp. Consult your physician. Better to add combination of different class of antihypertensive to achieve target bp control rather than increasing single class drug. Pls monitor electrolytes as u r on high dose of lisinopril. Pls consult physician/cardiologist regarding this. Hope u will be benifited by this.
