Is Lobectomy Or Lung Transplant Advisable To Treat Right Ling Dysfunction?
Hi, I am 38 years old woman from India . I suffered from pulmonary tuberculosis in 1999 and it has been culminated into MDR, but I have been cured by 2002. But in 2009 it has been relapsed and when I did x-Ray and CT scan , my doctor said that my right lung has collapsed and from then on I have been on medication on and off till now and I have like asthma problems too. And recently I am having symptoms related to my lungs. So what is the best option for my treatment? Shall I go for lobectomy or lung transplant ??? I have great difficulty in doing my daily chores and can t socialise with anyone. Which is the best hospital for my condition? Till now I have seen many doctors from reputed hospitals but all in vain. My condition is more or less a same. Please I am very depressed about my illness.

Is Lobectomy Or Lung Transplant Advisable To Treat Right Ling Dysfunction?
Hello, Lobectomy is the removal of part of the lung which is followed by transplantation by lobe donated by a brain dead person. Treatment will depend on availability of lobectomy facilities and transplant facilities of your hospital. Successful Lobectomy followed by transplant will improve your lung functions and hence the quality of life. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
