Is Loose Stools After Drinking A Bottle Of Mag Citrate Normal?

I haven t had a good bowel movement in over a week so I started taking stool softeners a few days ago. Last night I drank a bottle of mag citrate. Today s results were a lot of water stool, dark brown with what looked like sand in it. Is this normal? Could I be impacted?

Some of the side effects of Magnesium citrate include abdominal cramps, diarrhea, bloating, electrolyte imbalance, nausea, and vomiting.
This diarrhea you describe can surely be caused by this medication. My advice is to lower the dose and to check whether the result is the same... Dose prescribed is from 195 to 300ml. So adjust your dose. If this doèsn`t work you should change the medication.
