Hi,I am Diwashish Biswas (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is Loss Of Appetite A Side Effect Of Levothyroxine Intake?
I m taking 100 mcg of Levothyroxine, and am experiencing almost zero appetite, and I really don t feel hungry; plus, my body seems to be voiding not only huge amounts of gas, but my feces smells quite strong. Is this normal, for someone taking Levothyroxine?
Welcome and thanks for your query. Levothyroxine is unlikely to cause loss of appetite. It usually improves appetite. A high dose of it may cause anxiety, palpitation, feeling hot and diarrhea. If your appetite is low and you have abdominal pain and gas, it is better to see a doctor, have yourself examined and investigated. Do get back to me if you have further queries.
