Is Low Menstrual Flow And Brown Discharge Sign Of Pregnancy?

My husband and I are trying to get pregnant. I stopped birth control on 4/9/11, and cycled the next week (4/11), then again starting 5/9. I also started taking OTC prenatal vitamins. I should have cycled around the first week of june, but nothing. Plus a negative pregnancy test, and another neg last week. On 6/18 I thought I was starting to cycle, but only bled for 1/2 a day, then nothing, but a little bit of slightly brown discharge. I am so confused, could I be pregnant??

Hi
Dr. Purushottam welcomes you to HCM virtual clinic.
I have gone through your query.
I think I have understood your concern, I will try to suggest you the best possible treatment options.
1)First of all do not panic.

2)In a woman with regular cycles, day 10 to 20 of the cycle is the most fertile period of the cycle. We usually suggest to have sex act at least on alternate days in this period, this helps to conceive in most of the cases.

3) If your repeated pregnancy tests are negative then consider the discharge as beginning of a new cycle.

4)If you are trying to conceive, I will suggest to indulge in a healthy lifestyle, a healthy diet and regular exercise regime. Include more fruits, salads and vegetables in the diet. Avoid deep fried foods, bakery items and refined sugars. Also, start on Vitamin B 12, Folic acid and Omega 3 supplements. This helps to achieve healthy pregnancy and minimizes various pregnancy related risks.

I hope my answer helps you.
Thanks.
Wish you good health.
With regards
Dr Purushottam Neurgaonkar
