Is Lung Puncture Normal During Trigger Point Injection Procedure?
a friend of mine recently had trigger point injections for her chronic neck and back pain. during the procedure her lung was punctured , about 5 minutes after being released chest pain started and she was unable to breath. being rushed by ambulance to the nearest hospital E R, she was told the Dr. performing the procedure had punctured her left lung causing it to collapse . It took 6 days and 3 chest tubes for the puncture to close, and she is currently under 6 weeks of home health care. Is this common for this procedure?
