Is Masturbation During Pregnancy Permissible?

Hi I m17weeks pregnant of twins is it ok to masturbate? Actually I already masturbate since I got pregnant but the baby in the ultrasound is ok...so is it ok to continue? I feel good after masturbating I don t feel pain is it ok to continue? How about sex with my husband is it ok or off limit?

Hello Dear. You can masturbate by just stimulating your clitoris and superficial stimulation of the vulva. But do not insert anything into the vagina. It may cause infection and is detrimental to the fetus. Sex is not recommended in the first and second trimister. In the third trimister you can have a mild sex, but not vigorous. It is better if you can completely avoid sex till your delivery, as you have twins and you need to be more careful.
