Is Methadone Safe During Pregnancy?
Hi, i am a 24yr old woman and im 3mths pregant, i was addicted to herion when i found out i was pregant and a doctor told me the best thing for me to do was to go on methadone. Is that the safest thing for the baby? And will the baby be okay after birth?

No. It is not to be used during pregnancy. It can cause a withdrawal symptoms in the baby and can be associated with fetal growth retardation. It is best avoided in pregnancy.
