Is Missed Period A Side Effect Of Citralopram?

hi am taking the POP pill cerazette and citralopram i have very light periods up till now i have been on the POP pill for 3 months and 4 weeks ago started taking the citralopram but have not had a period this month. do the two lessen the protection of pregnancy

Hi,

The 2 drugs you mentioned both can lead to menstrual problems. Citralopram usually causes heavy periods but Cerazette can lead to your symptoms. If you have missed a period with intercourse then maybe get a urine pregnancy test first of all along with Ultrasonography of abdomen. If both do not show anything then ask your doctor to change the medication.

I don't think that Citalopram may have affected the protection. Do a pregnancy test first.
