Is My TSH-5.8 During Pregnancy Harmful For The Fetus?

hi Doctor,i am 7th week pregnenant now.10 days back in my blood test report stated that my TSH is 5.8.is it any harm for me and my baby.our doctor suggested told wait for 2 more months and again we will test then will take step untill dont worry.is it true or can i consult Thyroid specialist.

I read carefully your concern and understood your query.
I would strongly recommend you to see an endocrinologist because the TSH level is high and should be corrected as soon as possible to avoid future probable effects in the fetus and secure a normal outcome of pregnancy.
The TSH ranges in pregnancy are lower than the normal ones so 5.8 is considered high and there is no reason why to wait.
