Is My Baby Having Evening Colic?

HI, my 3 months old baby is absolutely fine during the day however he cries a lot in the evening. He is not breast fed because my wife does not have enough supply so he is given cow's milk. My doctor said he is suffering from evening colic. is there no treatment for this?

Hello and welcome to HCM .

Evening colic is very common in young babies especially those not fed on mothers milk as the substitute of breast milk or more difficult to digest for the child .

Cows milk can be substituted with Zerolac soya milk formula which is easier to digest for babies .

Gripe water formulations available in the market can be given when the child cries a lot .

Keep the baby on its belly for some time after feeds this helps in expelling gas .

Make sure the baby is given gentle burps after every feed .

You can give homoeopathic medicines Chamomilla 30 and Colocynth 30 two drops each diluted with 1 spoon of boiled and cooled water four times a day to the baby.

Hope this helps ,take care .
