Hi,I am Neethu Vipin (Dietitian & Nutritionist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
After using GALVUSMET 50/1000(TYPE 2 Diabetes) from May 2013 and RAMIPRIL-H (2.5 mg/twice daily - i.e. switched over from coversyl plus 4mg once daily) i suspect that I have gained weight of about 3 kgs. with protruding belly. I am 65 yrs. old with 33 BMI with obesity (90 kgs. with 165 cm height) . I have undergone angeoplasty two stents 7 years back. and have touched diabetes II (at age 64 i.e. 1 year back). I was constantly 85-87 kgs. for last 25 years before using the above medicines, but with sudden weight gain for last 4 months of the use of above medicines. I am a vegetarian and take limited food with no sweets, nor icecream nor any fatty food for last 2 decades. CH.S. RAJAGOPAL A SENIOR CITIZEN FROM INDIA
change in above medication doesn't cause weight gain
you have been given ramipril H now, which doesn't cause any weight gain. one thing you can do is to do regular excercise and proper diet with less fat n salt will help in reducing weight.
