Is Neosporin Sufficient For Swelling Of Lips And Pus Discharge?
I fell on gravel and hit my face(lip) directly. It is now swollen and pussing from the tears on my lip. This happened Saturday night, and I iced it all day Sunday. The lip is more swollen then yesterday and bruised on outside. I have been applying Neosporin. If you look inside my lip its black/ bruised. My teeth feel fine, just a little tenderness. What should I do about swelling and puss?
I am empathetic to the lip injury suffered by you and further pus discharge.
This type of situation occurs if the injury is deep enough with secondary infection over the same. As you have pus discharge it may be possible to have the same. You should consult a doctor to check the same at the earliest and "URGENTLY".
Do not try applying over the counter products as these can further aggravate the situation. Do not pinch or pop the area as it can further aggravate the condition.
Do go for tetanusvaccination within 24 hours so that any serious side effect can be prevented.
