Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is New Pacemaker Insertion Required If Having Low Blood Pressure?
I have a pacemaker. The cardiologist said I need the new type defib pace maker. My blood pressure dropped to 71 over something a few months ago. I am 83 and really enjoy life. I fish, camp, prospect old ghost towns, and ride my new Can Am 100 ATV in the desert a lot. Do I have this one removed, and get the new type, or take my chances?

Hi Pace maker with an icd (intra cardiac defibrillator) is really safe, it not only maintains the rythm , but also reverts any arrythmias. When the cardiologist has specified, it may be due to the specific reason, where he might have noted any abnormality in your rythm You can as well review with him once again Hoping for your wellbeing, do not take any chance Take care .
