Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I m looking to see if there is any connection between a sudden growth spurt in a 13 year old girl of a couple of inches, and increasing numbness in the left mid-leg, so much so that she has to have physio 3 times a week and she is being referred to a Neurologist. She was previously diagnosed with sciatica but she had no injury to cause this and sciatic is now being ruled out. She has very little reflexes in this leg and can only walk with the aid of crutches. Thank you.
hi.sorry to hear about your friend.growth spurt doesnot causes legpain at this age!pain in left middle leg at this age needs orthopedic referral to rule out any bony lesion causing the problem and also she needs crutches to walk shows the seriousness of illness.do consult immediately and start your treatment.good day
