Is Occurrence Of Scars On Tonsils Normal?

Can you get scarring on your tonsils? Mine look like they have a netting on them. The right side has what looks like little blood spots. I am 54 years old female and have suffered with bad bouts of tonsillitis all my life, although this has ceased in the last 10 years or so and I only get it about once every couple of years. Thank you

Hi

Welcome in HCM.

I understand your concern and it appears as you are having chronic tonsillitis, the scar as you mentioned is probably the fibrosed follicle. Though you have no tonsillitis attack for last 10 years but now whatever you are seen on tonsil ar red spot is the sign of congestion.

Need not to worry and please do-

1- Warm saline gargling.

2- Antacid with PPI.

3- Mucolytic.

Probably above will help you otherwise consult your doctor for examination and necessary investigations for diagnosis and treatment.
