Is On And Off Painful Bony Knot Due To Hard Blow To Back Of Head Normal?

Can a bony knot, caused by a hard blow to the back of the head...come and go with pain, over the course of a year? There was no bleeding, and the knot was present right after the injury, but went away after about a month; periodically, it reappears for a week or two, then goes away? Is this normal?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Bump after injury is formed due to collection of blood in scalp. But after resolving it should not reappear. I would suggest you to show to a surgeon if every thing is normal. Though it is not an emergency.
