Is Oral Use Of Susten During Pregnancy Is Harmful?

My wife is 70 days pregnant and from the 50 days of pregnancy she is using Susten 200 capsule orally by doctor advice, but today visited to another doctor and she advised for vaginal use! please suggest which is correct? Is oral use is harmful for pregnancy?

Please do not worry. The drug goes into the body irrespective if you eat it or insert vaginally.

Susten is used to prevent abortion and preterm labor pains and help maintain pregnancy. The vaginal route is used as some women experience nausea and vomiting after taking oral tablets. Also vaginal insertion leads to higher concentration of the drug near the uterus where it is meant to act.

Both routes are effective and there is no harm to the pregnancy. So please do not worry.

Susten capsules can be used orally and vaginally .
Vaginal route has a greater efficiency than the oral route.
Oral route isnt harmful for her pregnancy.
