Hi welcome to health care magic forum.
As you describe the main problem with your wife is the constipation. with the central acting pain killers there will be constipation.
There are so many drugs to assist the bowel movements, like bisacody, tablets, and powder, cremaffin, etc.
I advise to take more of green leafy vegetables, pulses, sprouts, and more water to drink to assist the bowel movements.
wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
