Is Pneumonia Life Threatening?

Hi My name is Demetria and I had a CT scan today of my chest and found out that I have pneumonia in both lungs and small nodules in my left lung. Is this life threatening? My primary doctor is referring me to a pulmonologist. ?Will they be able to help with the nodules. I am scared nd confused. My ONLY daughter is getting MARRIED NEXT YEAR AND WNT TO BE THERE FOR HER AND HAVE BEEN HELPING HER PLAN. WHAT ARE MYCHANCES?

There is nothing to worry .Pneumonia is not a disease that can kill a person unless you have immune compromised state that means your capacity to fight against infection is reduced due to diseases like AIDS. We have very strong drugs these days, which can eradicate the organism responsible for pneumonia in 2 to 3 day times. Relax your pulmonologist may put you on the recommended antibiotic or he may go for culture sensitivity test before putting you on drugs. Hope fully you will be completely fine in a week time and will be able to celebrate marriage of your daughter next year.
