Is Pregnancy Possible Despite Being On Birth Control?

I am on birth control and last week I had my period. That following Sunday I was suppossed to start a new pack of birth contol. I forgot to pick up my perscription so I started a day late on my pills. I took Sunday's pill when I woke up and Monday's before bed. The problem is Sunday night I had sex with my boyfriend. Should I be worried about being pregnant? I''ve been on birth control for a year now so it's been in my system for a while. Should I be worried?

Hi,
Thanks for the query. I understand your concern.
After stopping a contraceptive, ovulation is induced between 10th to 16th day of periods. You were late in starting pills by one day... ( about 6th day of period) should not carry risk of pregnancy...as it goes in safe period.
So you should continue with your pills regularly.you have least chance of pregnancy with a sex on 6th day of menstruation.BUT MIND IT WELL IT'S NOT BECAUSE THE PILLS ARE BEING TAKEN FOR A YEAR.. BUT BECAUSE OF LEAST POSSIBILITY OF OVULATION THAT DAY.
YOU SHOULD BE CAREFYLUL &PUNCTUAL IN TSKING PILLS HENCE FORTH.
THANKS.
