Is Protected Sex Safe After Being Treated For Ureaplasma Infection?

My husband and I just completed 10 days of doxycycline for a ureaplasma infection. My doctor said we must abstain from sex until I return to see her in a month. Would we risk re infection if we used a condom during sex before I went back to my doctor?
