Is Psoriasis The Right Diagnosis For Pus Filled Covering On Head, Lumps In Neck With No Help From Oral Antibiotics And Steroids?
my daughters head is covered in what my doctor seems to think is psoriasis but none of the treatment is helping. i have an app with a private dermatologist in 2 weeks for this problem. Today pus is coming from it and its very painful. She is on oral antibiotic and steroid cream. ive just found 3 lumps under the skin on her neck on the right side im very concerned
I can understand your concern for pus filled areas covering on head, lumps in neck with no help from oral antibiotics and steroids. It is difficult to make a exact diagnosis of your daughter's condition without pictures. But in general we do not see psoriasis manifesting as pus filled areas except in few cases putular psoriasis.
As the areas are pus filled so your daughter is correctly prescribed with antibiotics but appears to be less effective due to more eruptions.
If I were your daughter's dermatologist then would have prescribed a higher antibiotic orally and to apply medium potency steroid cream such as mometasone or fluticasone cream with an antibiotic application such as mupirocin or fucidin. You can give antihistamine benadryl or loratadine by mouth. The only precaution you must follow is not to touch, pinch pop or squeeze any of them other wise it can get infected and can cause complications.
Take care.
