Is Rapid Test Safe To Confirm HIV?

Hi Im 25 years old. I had an incident where I might have been exposed to HIV. It happened at the end of may this year. I got an rapid hiv test done 4 days later after incident and then tested again one month later. They both were negative. Do I have to get tested again?. Are rapid tests safe? Is it ok that I got tested in 2 diferent places meaning the first time I got tested was in a hospital and then in a clinic? Please help me thank you.

Welcome at HCM
I have gone through your query and being your physician I completely understand your health concerns....
As far as sensitivity of rapid tests are concerned they are usually sensitive but you should be tested by Anti HIV antibodies by ELISA.....it is very specific test and will help you to get rid of your concerns....
These tests are completely safe you need not to worry. It is ok whether you got tested in hospital or clinic as long as aseptic technique was being practised....
Hope your query is adequately answered
