Is Removal Of Uterus Recommended While Having A Hysterectomy For Bladder Prolapse?

I am trying to decide weather or not to keep my ovaries when I have my hysterectomy. I am having a hysterectomy due to prolapse. My doctor suggested having my tubes and ovaries taken out at the same time. I am 59 years old and she told me my ovaries were not producing much hormones.

Hello,

The removal of ovaries depends on your age. If you are already postmenopausal then it is best to get the ovaries removed. Your gynecologist can help you in deciding.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Rakhi Tayal,
OBGYN
