Is Rubella A Contagious Disease?

Hi My 11 month old son was exposed to Rubella one week ago from a friends son. I know we may not see symptoms from him for another week or so but does this mean my husband and i should stay away from pregnant women as we could carry this virus?

we have both been immunised against it, but my son has not since as he is not old enought as yet.
