Hello,
Thank you for the query.
PCOD lead to anovulation that's why your doctor has prescribed you siphene which contains clomiphene citrate which is used in the treatment of infertility. It stimulates hormone production that stimulates ovulation.Yes it may slightly increase the chances of twin pregnancy.Normally chances of twin pregnancy is 1 to 2 % while when with use of this about 5 to 8 % chances of twin pregnancy is there.
About side effects it may cause nausea, stomachache, headache ,hot flashes and rarely it may cause something which is called ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome. So if you feel any side effect during treatment consult your doctor.
Hope this helps.Take care.
Thank you.
