Is Skin Rash A Side Effect Of Eliquis?

I have been put on Eliquis in January. I now have leg sores and a rash running along the back of my leg all the way to my rear end. My ankle and foot are swollen also. I went to my regular physician and he sent me to check for a blood clot. That came back negative. He has me applying Triamcinolone cream 3 x day. I asked if it could be from the Eliquis, and he said no. Have you heard of this happening to anyone else.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I do know that people can have allergic/hypersensitivity reactions to Eliquis and can develop skin rashes. I recommend consulting with a dermatologist who has experience (someone who has been practicing dermatology for awhile rather than fresh out of residency). Without being able to see the rash, I can't say whether it is related.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
