Is Slight Bleeding And Pain Normal After Self Swab?

Hi, I went to my local STI clinic today and they asked me to do a self swab. It was extremely uncomfortable doing this myself (previously an OBGYN had always done this for me) and afterwards I have had slight bleeding and pain when urinating. Is this normal? Could I have hurt myself when self swabbing?

Hello,

You might touched some raw area on the cervix which may be ready eroded. Take tab Trenaxa to stop the bleeding. Because you might have cervical erosion, that is why your doctor suggested you the swab.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sunita Kothari, OB & GYN Specialist
