Is Surgery The Only Option To Cure Herniated Disc With Annular Fissure?
Hi, I just received my mri results and it shows I have a herniated disc (L5-S1) with right paracentral annular fissure. Can you please tell me there are other options other than surgery to repair this? I have tried almost everything except injections and am really tired of being in pain.
I have seen lots of patients with such MRI and i can assure you that not all of those needed surgery. Only person who need surgery is those who have weakness in legs or severe leg pain. What report you have mentioned does not suggest that you disease is advance so at present you do not need surgery. I would suggest you to focus on back muscle strengthening exercises. It is a slow process and need patience. Some time it can be months but believe me your pain will be permanently relieved. I would also suggest you to take muscle relaxant like Myospaz or Myoril. These will make your back muscle relax and that will make your exercise easy.
