Is Swallowing Fabric Softener Dangerous In A 23 Months Old Child?

My 23 month old grandson swallowed some Method fabric softener , it seems to be a small amount but it made him gag when he tasted it and he coughed for a second and then stoppd. Have been on phone with poison control for 23 minutes. Please tell is what to do.
