Is Taking Cipro Sufficient For Urinary Infection?

I m 72 have had urinery infections over the years - i have one now with a bit of blood in urine - dr wants me to see a urologist - rightly so - im on an antibiotic now - cipro and i am better - urologist cant see me til next week - is that OK - shouldl I worry and try to see someone this week or wait till I see my Dr

Hello,

Your mentioned history suggestive of urinary tract infection. In UTI epithelial damage can occur and so urine can be bloody due to erosion.
You have recovered well after the antibiotic course.

So no need to worry. You can visit urologist one week after. No urgent consultation to urologist needed in this week.
