Is Taking Naproxin Before Partial Hysterectomy Surgery Harmful?

Hi.I am having a partial hysterectomy in 3 days. I have a terrible toothache. It was misdiagnosed as a gum issue, but found out too late that I required a root canal. I can not have a root canal this close to my surgery because of obvious complications with antibiotics. I do not want to reschedule my surgery because I have already had all of my pre-op testing. In the meantime, I have been taking naproxin to help with the pain from the inflammation. Have I jeopardized my surgery by taking naproxin so close to my surgery date? I am also taking hydro-codon for pain

Hello,
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
I do not think there is any big issue if you were on naproxen or hydro-codon before the planned surgery.
Some problems like gastritis and hypertension can crop up with naproxen but as such they can be easily detected and monitored through the preanaesthetic check up.
If there is no issues then you can comfortably go ahead with the partial hysterectomy.
Tooth problem can be attended later on.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Take care.
