Is Taking Citalopram Recommended?

Hi, i have been prescribed Citalopram today by my doctor, i have been reading through the side affects (good & bad) and still a little unsure if this is the right step to take. I work in a safety critical enviroment and cannot afford to have time off work. So i am wondering is this right for me.
