1. ADR [adverse drug reaction] of telekast [montelukast] is RASH thus telekast-L [montelukast+levocetrizine] works by blocking certain natural substances (leukotrienes) that may cause or worsen allergies. [rashes in case of your husband either due to cough medicines or some other pathology] and since very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare thus is mostly suitable for allergic manifestations.

2. Homeopathic medicines is an alternative treatment for allergies, in which you take tiny amounts of allergens by mouth to slowly de-sensitize you over time to allergens (also known as sublingual immunotherapy), and no drug-drug interaction has been noticed with the two.

PS. Of course, the best way to prevent allergy symptoms is to avoid the triggering factor(s), Talk with your doctor about the particular set of symptoms, and then be willing to go through a trial and error period.
