Is Telecast Causing Rashes On Ribs? Can It Be Taken With Homeopathy Medicine?
Hello Doctor, I see rashes on left ribs of my husband.. he is already going thorough medication for cough since 20 days.. Now he is prescribed Telekast L today.. he has already taken a dose of homeopathy medicine. My query is,.. is Telekast L suitable even after these rashes as we observed them after we visited doctor. and also is it ok to take telecast l after heving homeopathy medicine.
** 1. ADR [adverse drug reaction] of telekast [montelukast] is RASH thus telekast-L [montelukast+levocetrizine] works by blocking certain natural substances (leukotrienes) that may cause or worsen allergies. [rashes in case of your husband either due to cough medicines or some other pathology] and since very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare thus is mostly suitable for allergic manifestations.
2. Homeopathic medicines is an alternative treatment for allergies, in which you take tiny amounts of allergens by mouth to slowly de-sensitize you over time to allergens (also known as sublingual immunotherapy), and no drug-drug interaction has been noticed with the two.
PS. Of course, the best way to prevent allergy symptoms is to avoid the triggering factor(s), Talk with your doctor about the particular set of symptoms, and then be willing to go through a trial and error period.
