Is That Normal Of Having Mood Swings After Taking Morning After Pill?

I just had my first time, but it was protected. We used two separate condoms, we didn t use them at the same time of course. I took the morning after pill, and I have been having huge mood swings is that normal? Also, how long does the pill stay in your system? For a few days or after the 14 days...

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
If you had taken protection by using condoms, it wasn't necessary to take morning after pill. Anyway, you might have taken it as an extra precaution.
Mood swings are due to side effects of the pill. It is only a temporary symptom, which should subside gradually.
Keep yourself well hydrated by consuming good quantities of water and fluids. Take adequate rest for a couple of days so that the symptoms would subside early.
You should get your periods in the form of withdrawal bleeding within 3 weeks from the day you have consumed the pill, which confirms that you are not pregnant.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
