Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is The Gluteus Medius Tear Significant In An Tendinopathy Suffering Person?
I am 68 year old female and have been told after MRI that I have a gluteus medius tear. My hip doctor dismissed it saying most folks after 60 would show a tear on an MRI. I have severe gluteal tendinopathy and trochanteric bursitis for which I am being treated. Is the tear significant or not?
Gluteus medius tear is a common finding and does not seems to be a serious disease.I am agreeing with your doctor that gluteus medius tear is not a thing t be worrying. You take rest, avoid any exertion, take carnisure tablet.
